FUCK BATMAN - Agent 88 Production Starts In 4 days

AGENT 88 on the move!

Great production meeting last night with a bunch of incredibly cool talented people that I'm honored to be working with. 4 big production days ahead of us starting Saturday the 24th and running until Monday the 27th. 2 of those night will be on location in North Hollywood, 1 night in Culver City and a full greenscreen night on a big sound stage in Santa Monica.

Vincent Guastini Productions is on the practical SFX so I'm actually getting 4 hours of restful sleep a day...more than enough. I can't release information on who our fight director is but he's an old friend and he's flown into Los Angeles from a far away land to save my sorry ass with a couple of his best power players - so major payback due. Thanks brother!

I wanted to share some of the pre production art below. I have so much art it looks like we're shooting a 2 hour feature already. Blessed with the best of the best in the 2-D dept as well, I've attached art here is from the original viking prince of NYC Reynir Hauksson, the lord of west coast speed production design and storyboarding Axel Ortiz, Gus Vasquez the crusher of lead  and the world traveling martial arts legend Yuri Timg who's working on 88 out of manila right now.

The schedule is super aggressive so we're plotting every second of it as tightly as possible to save time and sanity for all of us but the man who has to truly defy more gravity that our martial artists is is the one and only Joseph Setele ASC who has a shot list that looks like CRANK on Crank.

Batman 3 is shooting so talent is scarce or on 24 hour notice and that's slowed us down a bit in assembling the team but we finally lined up the Avengers in the 11th hour.

See you next week dead or alive,

LOVE D

OAKLEY: The Road to Design Mecca

Dear Fashion Slaves,

I had the most unique private yesterday to OAKLEY'S main headquarters thanks to my mega talented friend the venerable James Lareau. James is the type of guy who can turn a pile of junk into work of art in less time than it takes you to fry an egg.

I've always been an enormous fan of Oakley's design aesthetic. No other brand has ever spoken to my personal taste in the same way and visiting their facility yesterday reignited my passion for all things Oakley. The exterior of the building is a fortress prepared for World War 3, complete with functional tank, torpedoes and giant spiked metal studs that emote a super strength yet somehow feel hypnotically inviting.

The cyber-industrial entrance design is based on an American Indian headdress. It's just brilliant! You feel as though you are walking into the mouth of a minimalist H.R. Giger painting. it was the first time in my life I fantasied about having......what do they call that again?   Oh yeah... A JOB!

Whatever Kool Aid the staff are drinking looks rocking because I've never seen so many genuinely happy employees in my whole life.
